Attention Nittany Valley Chiropractic Patients! We are very excited to share with you fall schedules from Fitness Inspired and Wellness In Motion! New classes at Fitness Inspired include Fitness Inspired Kids, Pumped Up PiYo, Couples Edition, Fitness Inspired Cougars (Free classes Sept 23rd and 25th at 7am), and Fitness Inspired Junior Sports Stars! Wellness In Motion is adding Tai Chi and QI Gong Basics which begins Wednesdays Sept 3rd from 9:30-10:30am. Class Schedule

Chair Pilates

Mondays, 11:00am-noon

The Pilates Method of body conditioning is a unique system of stretching and strengthening exercises developed over ninety years ago by Joseph H. Pilates. It strengthens and tones muscles, improves posture, provides flexibility and balance, unites body and mind, and creates a lengthened body. Pilates is a work-out with a difference. It develops core abdominal strength, so that whatever activity you undertake, your skeleton is supported and your spine protected.

Chair Pilates is a class designed for students who wish to experience a good core workout while seated. In addition, standing and balancing exercised will be incorporated with the chair as support. This class is ideal for students who are new to Pilates or who find getting up and down from the floor a challenge. This class focuses on learning Pilates terminology, proper body alignment, and the safe execution of Pilates exercises.

Gentle Yoga

Tuesdays, 9:30-10:45am

Are you looking for ways to be more mindful? To relieve stress and anxiety? To strengthen and tone your body? Or are you simply looking to try something new? If the answer to any of these questions is “yes”, then this class is just for you – and it’s great for beginning and experienced yogis alike! Gentle Yoga focuses on slow fluid movements combined with a variety of breathing techniques; the goal is to calm the mind, relax the body, bring balance to the breath, and “just be”.

Post-natal Yoga and Fitness

Tuesdays, 11:30 am-1:00 pm

A class for moms and pre-crawling babies! The class will focus on pelvic and core strengthening and post-natal rejuvenation in a baby-friendly environment while providing a place for new moms to connect.

Little Trees Yoga

Tuesdays, 4:00-4:45 pm (Ages 5-8) OR 5:00-5:45 pm (Ages 9-12)

Through the incorporation of yoga, movement, meditation and creativity this class will continue the mission of Every Kid’s Yoga© by:

  • Supporting physical and emotional development
  • Enhancing students’ well-being by incorporating strategies to improve self-regulation, increase awareness of positive socialization and develop self-confidence

A typical class will flow through breathing exercises, games, and poses as well as other movement and creative experiences.

Ashtanga Yoga: Modified Primary Series

Tuesdays, 6:00-7:00pm

The primary series as created by Putabi Jois, only more accessible. The same series of poses are practiced each week, with modifications offered for different levels of practice. Starting with Sun Salutations, the primary series goes through standing poses, seated poses, core work, and inversions tailored to your level, making it a comprehensive practice. It allows you to see your improvements and changes from week to week.

Tai Chi and Qi Gong Basics (6 week series)

Wednesdays 9:30-10:30 am September 3rd – October 15th (no class September 24th)

Increase your flexibility, balance, grace, and mental focus with these simple movement exercises, which stimulate and harmonize the body, breath, and life force energy. Everyone is welcome, no matter your ability. Students will also receive access to online videos for home practice and review.

Beginner Yoga

Thursdays 5:30-6:45 pm (Jen Streb will be filling in for Mandy on September 4th) OR Fridays, 9:00-10:15 am (no class September 5th)

Fundamental yoga postures, breathing techniques and sequences are taught in this class. All levels of students are welcome, even those who have never done yoga before. A variety of options and modifications are demonstrated so that students can practice to their own level of ability. The atmosphere of the class is kept really laid-back so that no students feel intimidated. If you think you aren’t able to do yoga, come and try this class. We bet you can!

CapturePrenatal Yoga

Thursdays, 5:30-7:00 pm

Prenatal yoga provides physical and emotional support for women during all stages of pregnancy.
Classes include movement, breathing and meditation practices to enhance strength, focus and relaxation for pregnancy, labor and motherhood.

Meditation in Motion

Fridays, 11:00am-noon

Students will be introduced to simple chair and standing exercises done with a specific intent: to relax the body and quiet the mind. This inward focus is a hallmark of Eastern wellness modalities. Experience a fusion of movements from the ancient healing traditions of T’ai Chi, Yoga, and Qi Gong. Healthy movements are practiced to awaken your body’s flexibility, increase your circulation and enhance your balance without putting undue stress on the major joints of the body. Practice stress reduction techniques with mindful breathing exercises and savor moments of blissful quietness.
